Freshman QB Jordan Wynn (26-of-36, 338 yards, 3 TDs) threw the Utes to their ninth straight bowl win — a nation-best streak — after trailing 14-0 early. Wynn earned Offensive MVP.

Cal scored twice in the game’s first five minutes, including a pick-six off Wynn’s first pass. Utah answered with 27 unanswered points and never trailed again. The Utah defense sacked Kevin Riley five times and picked him off twice, including linebacker Stevenson Sylvester’s 27-yard interception return for a touchdown that put the game away with 5:27 left. Sylvester took Defensive MVP.
